The foundation has the mission of contributing to the wellbeing of the inhabitants of the greater northern zone of Chile, particularly in the area of health. The work of the foundation includes research, teaching and outreach as well as high-quality assistance, as a regional and national reference point in health, integrating the academic and healthcare worlds in service to national objectives for health.
The foundation contributes to the development and improvement of health through scientific and technological creation, identifying problems in healthcare and proposing scientific projects to resolve them.
