Campus

Coquimbo

Duration

3 years

General Description

A specialist in Radiology is a medical professional capable of meeting requirements for diagnostic support from healthcare professionals, supporting teams in diagnostic and healthcare processes.

Radiologists support medical teams in the diagnostic process by producing and interpreting images. In specific cases, they will carry out courses of treatment based on these images. They relate directly to the patient and their care team, with a respectful and ethical manner, integrating effectively into working teams. They put the interests of the patient first, respecting their wishes and beliefs and taking their sociocultural background into consideration.

Radiologists have professional integrity, a capacity for innovation and entrepreneurship, a solid scientific training, and a positive attitude towards their own ongoing training in the face of changes in knowledge, technology and the environment. These professionals view their profession from a perspective of solidarity, with an emphasis on public service. They will make effective use of the resources at their disposal, seeking to provide rapid and high-quality care. Radiologists are trained to carry out basic clinical research and to apply essential concepts to undergraduate-level teaching.
