General Description

Identity, culture, action, communication and image have strategic value in a constantly changing society. The Master’s Program in Strategic Communication is aimed at all professionals from the field of communications and similar areas interested in gaining applied tools and methodologies for Strategic Communications within public and private organizations, responding to existing demands, taking into account the productive sector and the needs of different audiences. Upon completing this program, graduates will obtain a Master’s Degree in Strategic Communication.

The program takes place twice a year.

Objectives

General Objective

To provide students with a solid foundation in theories and approaches of Strategic Communications, developing the skills to plan and manage communication strategy for diverse organizations and in different social settings, using suitable quantitative and qualitative tools.

Specific Objectives

  1. Graduates of the program will be capable of identifying different theories and approaches used to understand the role of Strategic Communication, in accordance with the nature, Mission and Objectives of private and public organizations.
  2. Graduates will be able to apply quantitative and qualitative methodology to tackle diverse types of communicational problems within organizations.
  3. Graduates will be capable of diagnosing, planning, managing and evaluating plans and programs for Strategic Communication within organizations.
  4. Graduates will be capable of developing an applied research process, with a particular emphasis on their professional activities within their place of work.

Candidate Profile

Candidates will be journalists and other professionals working in areas linked to Strategic Communication.

Plan of Studies

The Master’s of Strategic Communication includes nine obligatory courses, two professional electives and two courses relating to a final thesis project, spread over three academic semesters.

This is a part-time course, with classes during the evening.

Prerequisites

To enter the Master’s Program in Strategic Communication, candidates should hold an undergraduate degree or equivalent academic or professional qualification (minimum of 8 semesters) in a related discipline from a university in Chile or abroad.

Total Program Fees: $4.735.706.- (CLP)
Observations: Program Fees include stamp value of academic diploma.

Classes take place two weekends per month: Friday from 18:30 to 22:30 and Saturday from 09:00 to 19:00 hrs.
