General Description
The Master’s program in I.T. Engineering offers a solid foundation in three areas of knowledge: Software Engineering, Data and Knowledge Engineering and Automatization and Robotics. All three areas are directly linked to strategic areas of research within the university.
This program provides graduates with the knowledge and tools to identify effective and efficient solutions to problems associated with the improvement of processes for the development of I.T. solutions. The program has access to specialized laboratories, including an Artificial Intelligence Laboratory, Software Engineering Laboratory, Data Engineering Laboratory, Emerging Technology Laboratory, Applied Computing Laboratory, Network Laboratory and others. Each of these facilities is fitted with the hardware and software necessary for the subjects covered by the program.
Objective
The Master’s of I.T. Engineering aims to train graduates with high-level knowledge of computing, who are capable of leading and developing basic and applied research projects, teaching at a university level, carrying out specialized advisory and consulting services and resolving real, complex problems in the private sector, particularly regional companies.
Candidate Profile
Candidates for the Master’s of I.T. Engineering should hold an undergraduate degree or engineering degree in a related field. Candidates will have a strong desire to increase and refine their knowledge in this area, and an interest in carrying out basic and/or applied research. Current students of the degree programs in Civil Engineering in Computing and I.T. at UCN who wish to obtain a Master’s degree may also apply for the program.
Plan of Studies
The Master’s of I.T. Engineering has a duration of 2 years. Students have two pathways for graduation: a thesis project or publication of the results of a study in an indexed scientific journal.
