General Description
The program in Geo-Metallurgy is a transdisciplinary course of study integrating knowledge from the fields of Geology, Metallurgy and Mining Operations. It is aimed at professional geologists or engineers working or seeking to work in areas linked to the optimization of mining resources through the efficient assessment of ores and the improvement of handling and exploitation.
Objectives
The objective of the Master’s Program in Geo-Metallurgy is to train graduates of degree programs in Geology and Engineering in areas of specialization linked to mining and metallurgy, responding to the demand for up-to-date knowledge in the area of Geo-Metallurgy among mining industry professionals.
Additionally, the program aims to strengthen applied, multidisciplinary research in this field, through the creation of working groups incorporating students from this program and academics from the Departments of Geological Sciences and Metallurgical Engineering in order to resolve problems within the productive sector and the mining industry in particular.
Candidate Profile
Candidates will be professionals in the field of Geology, Metallurgy or related areas. The program aims to provide further training in mining and metallurgy specializations in order to meet the demand for cutting-edge knowledge in the area of geo-metallurgy among professionals in the mining industry.
