General Description

The program is designed for professionals in areas of Engineering or Science linked to the environment. It aims to train competent professionals capable of solving environmental problems generated by industrial activity, public services and the community.

The program of studies is made up of four modules: Sources and Effects of Contamination on the Environment, Waste Management and Treatment, Environmental Management, and one Specialization module. This program emphasizes theoretical and practical knowledge, allowing graduates to better address environmental issues linked to the productive, extractive and industrial sector. Modules are delivered by a world-class teaching staff, with the necessary infrastructure.

Objectives

The objective of the Master’s Program in Applied Environmental Engineering is to train graduates with the specific skills necessary to tackle environmental issues, particularly those linked to the treatment of liquid and gaseous effluents, improvement and recovery of contaminated soils, sustainable use of natural resources, clean production and waste management in the public and private sector, applying environmental regulations and management systems.

The program is aimed at engineering or science professionals working in the environmental field.

Plan of Studies

The Master’s of Applied Environmental Engineering has a duration of 4 academic semesters, including an academic thesis.

Candidates for the MAIA Program should hold an undergraduate degree in Engineering or Science, or an equivalent academic or professional qualification.
